I’ve been seeing more
and more of this very classic look lately, mostly on the European street
styles. It grabs my attention every time I see someone wearing it. To my
personal opinion, this almost a coat, not really a sweater piece of clothing,
is as much fun to play with then a great pair of shoes. I would call it the
winter version of a “Kimono”.
To look at its best wearing one of the "star" of the season, it’s
important to play with volumes to balance the silhouette. The long and wide
version of a cape coat is worn with skinny, boots or ballerinas. If you prefer
a shorter version, I would strongly suggest you pair it with a narrow pencil
skirt or dress and pumps.
The cape allows us to overlay, it is worn with a turtleneck or thick wool
sweater, with a pair of long leather gloves for an ultra-sophisticated effect.
Color wise, prefer neutral colors like black, brown or gray ... If you want a
little more punch, go for a tartan!
Finally, a small handbag or a discreet pouch is preferred ... Avoid fat bags and shoulder messenger that prove impractical and even less attractive when worn with a cape!

What is your favorite winter look? What kind of kind of warm gear do you
wear?
