Gray nail polish

One of my favorite fall  moment is when we begin to identify all the new colors of nail polish that scrolls across the city. This season, my favorite color is definitely gray.  The top notch one, the one that deserves the title of the most beautiful shade of gray is most definitely Galathee by NARS .

A touch of gray really lends itself to all occasions, without being too harsh and dark like black or even more difficult to wear like white. Give your manicure a sophisticated twist and a discreet look for the holiday season.
It is possible to have a little fun by adding a touch of color with the new "French manicure" approach, to go with a "ombre", or again a gradient swatch (50 according to the famous book).

What do you think? What other nail colors you like to wear these days?

The cape

I’ve been seeing more and more of this very classic look lately, mostly on the European street styles. It grabs my attention every time I see someone wearing it. To my personal opinion, this almost a coat, not really a sweater piece of clothing, is as much fun to play with then a great pair of shoes. I would call it the winter version of a “Kimono”.

To look at its best wearing one of the "star" of the season, it’s important to play with volumes to balance the silhouette. The long and wide version of a cape coat is worn with skinny, boots or ballerinas. If you prefer a shorter version, I would strongly suggest you pair it with a narrow pencil skirt or dress and pumps.
The cape allows us to overlay, it is worn with a turtleneck or thick wool sweater, with a pair of long leather gloves for an ultra-sophisticated effect. Color wise, prefer neutral colors like black, brown or gray ... If you want a little more punch, go for a tartan!

Finally, a small handbag or a discreet pouch is preferred ... Avoid fat bags and shoulder messenger that prove impractical and even less attractive when worn with a cape!

What is your favorite winter look? What kind of kind of warm gear do you wear?

Mixed prints

Mixed prints is often one of the most feared fashion risks, that’s why we see dare devils like Anna Dello Russo, Solange and Elisa Nalin (undisputed queens of mixed prints) taking risks, but we also saw mixed prints on the runways of Proenza Schouler and Rodarte.

Obviously this new trend can be intimidating at first, but it's actually quite simple and comfortable to wear. Wearing mixed prints is a statement of boldness and confidence. Frankly, if you are able to dress in a similar arrangement and back it up with a fab attitude, people will only see you as an elegant and confident person (which you obviously are).

The secret of the success of this match lies not only in the coherence and consistency , but especially in the element that holds the suit together. In other words, the mainstream. It can be a color, a shape, a theme, etc.. Your layout needs a common point, a trace or a form of resemblance.

In my opinion , the most difficult part ,when trying to mix prints, is our habit to want everything to fit perfectly together. Our brains are programmed that way. You must not think like that , just wear it, do it. Essentially, everything goes into the mix of prints . That's what really makes the beauty of the whole and gives meaning to the concept. Once you start experimenting , mixing prints become as natural as choosing pieces that match.

So to sum it all up , just remember:
  • To look for consistency in your articles.
  • To not lose sight of the form / balance of your clothes.
  •  That your base item and or color should act as a neutralizer for your outfit and serves to link your wildest pieces together .
  • To go easy on the accessories, hair and makeup .
  • To mix in some metallic accessories . Your outfit is eccentric enough, that this is your chance to experiment with shiny metal pieces combined with a minimalist hairdo.
Next spring collections will be loaded with these . For the less daring tryout, give your interiors little revamp with an array of cushions , carpets and wallpaper.
