Giuseppe Zanotti

The last years we have been dreaming about Manolo’s, Atwood’s & Louboutin’s.  This season we can start wishing for the Giuseppe Zanotti’s.  I can’t get over he’s sandals. It’s almost impossible to take my eyes off his gold swirl high heels or that Boho fringed bag that is now almost as famous as the rock bands greeting the stages in Coachella. My new obsession would be to pair these eye candy  with a white boyfriend blazer & jeans. This shoe genius even managed to introduce a touch of hip hop (The Cruel Summer edition) in the most conservative music and movie stars closets by associating is work with rapper Kanye West.
Keep hoping ladies, sometimes dreams do become reality!

Jo Malone

Jo Malone, Britain’s perfume guru, did it again with this spring 2013 Cologne Collection called Sugar And Spice. There are five limited edition. The promo is spot-on  with the it colours of Spring, pastel mint and lilac. It brought me right back to the Sophia Copolla’s Marie-Antoinette scene with all its cakes and exuberant sweetness.
This time the inspiration was base on the traditional High Tea with aromas like: Lemon Tart (refreshing), Redcurrant & Cream (Vivacious and enticing), Elderflower & Gooseberry (Tender and feminine), Ginger Biscuit  (Irresistible), Bitter Orange & Chocolate (Sumptuous and addictive).

I will surely have a difficult time stopping my choice on just one bottle. I strongly suggest you go discover these flavourful indulgence sold exclusively at Holt Renfrew. After that you can always treat yourself some more by spending time in the Ritz garden, next door.  I just love spring!

C Thru U

Sheer clothing can still perceived as on off-limit trend by some. It is a very bold move to get out of your house sporting around a transparent skirt paired with a little cardigan. Most of the time see-trough garments can quickly cross the delicate line between seductive and sexually vulgar.  Those who don't want to face potential wardrobe malfunctions will need to deal with the trend creatively.  The right choice of accessories can be turned into memorable statements. There are multiple choices of handbags, jewellery and shoes to choose from. Will you dare to bare ;-)?

The Grumpy Cat

Grumpy Cat, also know as Tardar Sauce, is a female cat very popular or the web for her grumpy facial expression. She now is almost at a super model level with the latest spoof ad campaign for Prada.  I just love that cat!

Denim on Denim

Denim duo is also known as the style that pairs two or more jeans items. For example, you could take a blouse and mix it with a blazer, a pair of pants, a short or even a skirt in denim. Here’s another trend that’s been trying to make it's way in our daily wear for the past three years. Even if most of us have exactly what it takes to achieve this look in our wardrobe, it is still a fashion forward person move.

Our restraint to fully embrace it is very normal since we probably  have on our mind the horrors of the 80’s and the 90’s (let’s visualise Madonna and Poison). The last decade can still compete in the impossible fashion faux pas competition with the likes of Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears at the 2001 MTV Awards.
I can reassure you that this look as evolved in the past years and now is a staple of a very well put together street style. It is also very easy to achieve properly if you follow these five rules:

1— NO belt. It will ruin the carefree and not too studied feeling you are trying to pull off. Let’s keep in mind the styles that have been seen everywhere lately all over Europe.

2— NO cowboy boots (no explanations needed).  A classic pair of nude ballerina flats or your most feminine pair of high heels will do more than just fine.

3— The color contrast is imperative if you want to achieve a flattering look. Go for a darker base (jeans or skirt) and a lighter wash top (blouse or jacket).

4—Keep it light by adding a fun detail like a fabulous handbag, loads of necklaces or bracelets, you can even keep the top button of your blouse open to showcase a delicate lace corsage.

5—Do not forget to roll up your sleeves and to pull up your collar. It adds such an interesting structure and attitude à la Marilyn & James Dean.
