Coachella

Today is the first day of a two weeks long festival: Coachella. This event took place for the first time in 1999 in Indio, California. It is known to this day to be the biggest outdoor music event since Woodstock. Just to give you an idea it is the Californian version of our Montreal’s Osheaga.

The festival showcases popular and established musical artists, as well as new artists and reunited groups. Famous appearances such as: Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Prince, Paul McCartney, Arcade Fire, The Killers, Duran Duran, Radiohead, Oasis, Daft Punk, Madonna, Kanye West, The White Stripes and Jay-Z  just to name a few.

It is a priceless opportunity, for fashionistas and stylists like me, to get a grip on the latest bohemian-chic styles of the moment.

Let me wish a good festival to all my lucky friends and fellow bloggers who will brave the desert extreme temperatures and thousands of people in the name of fun and fashion

The dream bag

My quest to find the perfect bag as always ended in a bit of a deception. Sadly for me, most of them are out of my league ( price wise). Since I'm a strong believer that dreams do come true, I keep on looking and tracking what I consider being the most important accessory (after shoes obviously). Here are some of the most wanted purses of the season.

                                      3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli satchel

                                   Stella McCartney Falabella canvas tote

                                           Celine ''Trapeze'' bag

                                              Celine '' Bucket'' bag

                                          Mulberry ''Willow'' bag

                                         YSL Cabas ''Chyc'' Lizard bag

My low cost version for this summer!

The cat eye glasses

One of my favourite 2013′s trend is the perfect pair of cat eye glasses. To me this style always represented Old Hollywood royalty including Ava Gardner, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. They were all shading their eyes with this flattering style. Today’s most recognizable faces like Kate Upton, Katy Perry and Miranda Kerr were all early adopters of this look that had been carried from the runways to the street.
The Tom Ford black cat eye glasses are my personal favorite with their modern take on this fantastic style. They suit nearly any face shape and immediately inject a bold statement to any look. Cat eye glasses can range from oval to rectangular; with a gradual lift to the shape, and the colors can range from translucent to strong glossy black frame.
Few trends can arise in the 50’s and still be considered beautiful enough to remain popular over 60 years later! They're bold, stylish, and give your face an instant lift. So ladies if you were planning on indulging on a new pair of glasses, at least give these a try.

The pineapple

This is most definitely what qualifies the quirky side of me : the pineapple. I passionately love this beautiful fruit. It makes me happy just looking at it. I guess it really does represent summer, vacations and some kind of colorful freedom. I also think that the legendary S/S 97 Stella McCartney collection for Chloé did it for me.
It doesn't matter if you use it trough you accessories (a necklace,a brooch,a bag),your clothes or your interior design you're guaranteed a summery presence all along.  Piña Colada anyone?

The Bling Ring

The movie « The Bling Ring » is based on the true story of the « Hollywood Hills Burglar Bunch ». In 2008, a group of teenagers in Los Angeles we’re arrested on the account of multiple celebrity house burglaries (Paris Hilton and Miranda Kerr). This new film adaptation is being directed by Sophia Coppola, staring Emma Watson.

Since the movie is only due to be released in June, we can always indulge our curiosity with the last edition of the British GQ. Emma Watson is greeting the cover dressed in a very Pretty Woman inspired dress. Will this be the new trend?
